The ASEAN Regional Aerospace Hub
Aerospace & Aviation
Building upon the 1st Malaysia Aerospace Industry Blueprint (1997-2014), Malaysia emerged as a major player in global aerospace market, with Subang Airport becoming the largest MRO hub in Malaysia.
Today, Subang Airport and KLIA Aeropolis make up approximately 20% of Malaysia’s current aerospace ecosystem, and are perfectly equipped to serve the growing aerospace industry throughout the region. Malaysia Airports’ current initiatives are aligned with the 2nd Malaysia Aerospace Industry Blueprint (2015-2030), in supporting Malaysia’s aspiration in becoming the No. 1 aerospace nation in Southeast Asia.
Subang Airport, a mature aerospace ecosystem
Over the last 10 years, Subang Airport has welcomed investments of over RM400 million, and created 3,200 jobs. It is a complete aerospace ecosystem with over 70 companies covering MRO, manufacturing, training, parts distribution and logistics, plus other supporting value chain services.
Now, Malaysia Airports is embarking on the Subang Airport Regeneration initiative that will realise the vision of tomorrow.
KLIA Aeropolis, the emerging aerospace ecosystem
With over 1,000 acres dedicated for future aerospace & aviation development, the KLIA Aeropolis encompasses an Aerospace Park and Aeronautical Support Zones (ASZ), providing ample space for spillovers from Subang Airport. The focus shall be on aircraft assembly, aerostructures, engine and component manufacturing, as well as MRO.
